Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the US has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," it added.
Officials reported wreckage landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
