Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.
For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Life
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer team," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.
West Ham's only away win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously Forest coach.
So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.
A family member advised me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.
They have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.
However I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at Fulham's home record, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
